Broken Borders

Studio Wieman, Amsterdam, NL
3 part installation: garden fences, rotating platform, fake grass

This work examines the white picket fence as a symbol of control disguised as domestic ideal. Despite its benign appearance, the fence continues to project a quiet violence. It asserts that land must be defined, controlled, and defended, marking boundaries not only physically but ideologically by excluding those who fall outside the norms it upholds.
